I had the supply, motor pool, USR, training, and communications extra duties assigned to me for two -three years while a junior officer and became fairly knowledgeable regarding all the associated processes. I was able to leverage that experience and my experience running shift work at the largest army nuclear site in Europe to run operations optimizations programs - the first of which netted a $100M annual reduction in OPEX at Continental Airlines in the 90s while they were exiting bankruptcy.
